WealthCo is Transitioning to a New Custodian, Aviso.
WealthCo Asset Management is transitioning to a new custodian, Aviso Financial Inc. ("Aviso"). The custodian change has no impact on your Portfolio Manager / Wealth Advisor or existing relationship with us. This change reflects our ongoing commitment to providing you with the highest level of service and security for your investments.
Why are we making this change?
The decision to transition to Aviso allows us to provide you with a best-in-class service that aligns with our ongoing commitment to delivering excellence. Aviso has been carefully selected as a trusted partner for holding and managing your assets. This transition enhances our ability to provide transparency, security, and seamless administration of your investments.
A custodian plays an essential role in safeguarding your investments, ensuring your securities and funds are securely managed. Aviso brings robust systems, advanced technology, and a strong regulatory framework that will enhance your experience, providing you with peace of mind.
Who is Aviso?
Aviso Financial Inc., part of Aviso Wealth, is a leader in Canada’s financial services industry, with over $130 billion in assets under administration and management. Their reputation for reliability and client service makes them an ideal partner for WealthCo. Aviso is regulated by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) and is a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF), ensuring that your assets are protected.
How will this impact you?
We have designed this transition to be as seamless as possible for you. Here’s what you can expect:
No tax implications: There are no tax consequences as a result of this change.
New custodian account numbers: Your account number will change, but this will not affect any existing automatic withdrawals or deposits, including scheduled RRIF payments. Everything will continue uninterrupted.
Tax documents: For the 2024 tax year, you will receive two sets of tax documents—one from NBIN (pre-conversion) and one from Aviso (post-conversion).
Enhanced online access: Aviso offers its own online platform and mobile app in addition to your existing WealthCo portal. Once your account is transferred, you’ll be able to activate access to the Aviso platform, which allows you to opt for e-statements and reduce paper statements.
Custody documents: Over the next 12 months, we are required to update your custody documentation, which can be done through a quick and secure online process. Our team will guide you through this step when the time comes. As a start, we have attached Aviso’s fee scheduled, and following the transfer, your account will be governed by Aviso’s Account Agreement & Disclosure Document
New-look custodian statements: You’ll notice a new format for your custodian statements from Aviso, but rest assured, our commitment to providing exceptional client service remains unchanged.
At WealthCo, we always strive to deliver the highest level of service, and we believe this transition to Aviso will allow us to better meet your needs and expectations. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your Portfolio Manager or reach out to me directly. We truly value your trust and look forward to continuing to serve you.
